About MentorMatchUK
MentorMatchUK is an online mentorship platform designed to:
- Help students find qualified mentors in their field of interest.
- Provide an opportunity for individuals to become mentors and offer guidance, advice, and support to mentees.
The platform operates using WordPress and the WorkScout theme to facilitate job listings, profiles, messaging, and applications in a professional and user-friendly environment.
Eligibility
To use MentorMatchUK:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Mentors must have demonstrable experience or qualifications in their respective fields.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false or misleading information.
User Roles
There are two primary user types:
a) Mentees (Students)
- Can create a profile, search for mentors, and apply for mentorship opportunities.
- Must communicate respectfully and follow the platform guidelines.
b) Mentors
- Can register as a mentor, create a mentor profile, and list available mentorship opportunities.
- Must maintain professionalism, provide accurate credentials, and deliver mentorship in good faith.
Account Registration & Security
- Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
- Any suspicious activity or unauthorized use of your account should be reported immediately.
- MentorMatchUK is not liable for losses or damages arising from failure to maintain the security of your account.
Code of Conduct
All users agree to:
- Engage respectfully and professionally.
- Avoid discriminatory, abusive, or inappropriate behavior.
- Respect the privacy, boundaries, and goals of the mentoring relationship.
Violation of these guidelines may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent ban from the platform.
Payments and Fees
MentorMatchUK may offer free and/or paid features:
- Some mentorships may be unpaid (voluntary), while others may include a fee or hourly rate.
- Any paid mentorship arrangements must be clearly outlined between both parties before engagement.
- Payment processing, if applicable, will be handled securely through third-party providers.
MentorMatchUK may charge listing fees or platform usage fees for certain services, which will be disclosed in advance.
Content Ownership and Usage
- Users retain ownership of their content (profiles, resumes, listings), but grant MentorMatchUK a non-exclusive license to display and promote their listings on the site.
- Users agree not to copy, redistribute, or misuse any content found on the platform.
Disclaimer
- MentorMatchUK is a facilitator and not responsible for the actual mentoring relationship.
- We do not guarantee employment, outcomes, or personal success through mentorship.
- All mentor and mentee interactions are the responsibility of the participating individuals.
Limitation of Liability
MentorMatchUK will not be held liable for:
- Any disputes, damages, or losses arising from mentor-mentee interactions.
- Inaccuracies in listings or profile information.
- Technical interruptions or platform downtimes.
Use of this platform is at your own risk.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these terms.
- Engage in unethical or fraudulent behavior.
- Cause harm to other users or the reputation of the platform.
